haven’t posted much. haven’t been doing much.
it rained all day on Saturday so I stayed in. no excuse for staying in on Sunday, too; just didn’t feel like going out.
oh, well.
talked with Dene and I’m officially moving in with them sometime this summer.
my last day of work is 22 June.

oh yeah, that depression thing.
started crying at work because one of my best students asked me to take a picture of the cool thing he made with blocks. missed Monday because I couldn’t get out of bed.
managed to get into work today but I don’t think I was at 100%.
trying to figure out how to get hormonal birth control because my bad days are usually followed closely behind by my...

sleep is for the weak
slept about a total of four and a half hours last night. one, one and a half until Cyrus txted me and then about three after that.
despite this, had a very enjoyable afternoon shopping in Shinjuku with Erin.
we had takoyaki, taiyaki and tea for lunch. it was delicious.
bought a gorgeous artbook by Yoshimi Ohtani.
went home the long way ‘round on the Yamanote-sen (it’s a big...

in an aeroplane over a place you finally left...
don’t usually do this, but I’m gonna xpost an entry from my Muggle journal.
I was feeling kinda blue after school for some reason, so I decided to walk home from my transfer station, Naka-okachimachi/Ueno-okachimachi. So I walked through Okachimachi and Ameyayokocho, and then Ueno Park. I took a different route through the park than I usually do, so I could see some different...

accidentally Akihabara
the weather was very nice this weekend (tho it’s supposed to rain all week :<) so Anna, Erin & I decided to go out for the day. our original plan was to see the peonies (not chrysanthemums; jfc, self, learn your flowers) and then go to the shrines for the Seven Gods of Good Fortune.
instead, we walked to Akihabara from Ueno (it’s not far at all) and spent the day there. we got...

日比谷/有楽町
today on my way to 豊洲ららぽーと, I had to transfer at Hibiya Station. as I was running between the Hibiya Line (where I live) and the Yurakucho Line (where Toyosu Station is), I realized it looked very familiar for some reason.
then I remembered eating a donut there with my mom when she visited in February 2010. seems like an awful long time ago.

walking home from work
it was still lightish out when I left from work today, so I ended up walking home.
figured I’d walk to Morishita-eki (the next station down from Kiyosumishirakawa, where I work), and then once I got to Morishita, I thought I might as well go to Ryogoku. then at Ryogoku, I was enjoying myself and I decided to go to Kuramae. by Kuramae, it was a straight line past Shin-Okachimachi to...

the ladies
never posted about this last week ‘cause I got home late that day and then somehow… never got around to it, oops.
so I went to dinner at Katrina’s house with the ladies. we made nabe. it was fun to hang out with my coworkers outside of, well, work and the food was delicious.

meh.
been lazy about posting here. then again, I haven’t been up to much.
nothing really going on.
it’s fucking cold outside and there’s no central heating anywhere so I’m always chilly. it’s not helping me feel better.
still not sure what I wanna do with my life but pretty sure I’m gonna move to Iowa City. trying not to agonize too much about this decision until...

dictionaryofobscuresorrows:
n. the exhilarating dread of finally pursuing a lifelong dream, which requires you to put your true abilities out there to be tested on the open savannah, no longer protected inside the terrarium of hopes and delusions that you created in kindergarten and kept sealed as long as you could, only to break in case of emergency.

it is cold out
despite the fact it gets pretty chilly here in the city of blinding lights, my apartment building (like most, apparently) is not insulated. like at all.
exhibit one: over vacation, I could see my breath when I woke up in the morning. (it’s too expensive to run my heater at night, so I wear the world’s warmest jammies ((two pairs of fuzzy socks) + (a pair of HeatTech leggings + fleece...

last day of vacation
started off my morning IM’ing with my mom about the logistics of getting home and moving to Iowa City. plane ticket prices are ridic for some reason. since when is a ticket from Narita to Boston $2,500+? this will be the sixth time I’ve gone either two or from Japan, and tickets have never been that expensive. (iirc, the most I’ve paid has been about $1,800.)
hopefully prices...

my time in Japan has been nothing but one disaster after another, it seems. not to say there haven’t been good times, but I’ve been stressed out and worn down for months now, and I had no end in sight… until now.
come August/September (or maybe October, yrs truly has to look into things), I’m packing up and moving again. for the third time in two years (fourth, if you count...
